October

October Book Club

We met this month to discuss Thirteen Reasons Why.  Ashley provided some delicious food and we had a nice time talking about the book. I thought it was a really great book to read and am glad that I got a second chance to read it.

Sorry there is not a group picture. I'll do better this month.

This month we are meeting at Jenny's house to discuss Esperanza Rising on the 19th.  This will be the last time we are meeting this year.  I think we're supposed to set up a new list of who is picking books, so we hope to see you all there.

September

September Book Club--Group

In September, we got together and discussed Emma. It was a first in that nobody had finished the book, but we all did at least go and watch the movie.  Suzanne gave us a wonderful summary of the book and I, for one and all ready to go hurry up and finish it.

Sorry these are all in sepia...the colors were all wonky and this made them look better...but it still doesn't do justice to the delicious food Suzanne prepared.  I got home and wished that I had brought some more cake home for myself.  And the flowers were GORGEOUS!

Our book for October is 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher.  It is a wonderful book and I am so glad Ashely chose it.  We'll meet again on October 15th at Ashley's house.  Hope to see you all there!

August

Wow!  So not only did I slack on getting this posted until now, I totally forgot to take any pictures at book club!  I apologize profusely for being so lame and will attempt to straighten up my act this month.

Anyway, book club was a ton of fun this month.  Sarah made some delicious bread and treats and we all had a lovely time talking and discussing the book.

We'll meet again on September 17th at Suzanne's house at the same time as always.  This time we'll be discussing the book Emma, by Jane Austen.  An oldie, but still a good one.  Hope to see you all there!

July

July book club 1

Book club this month was at Charise's lovely home.  It was wonderful to sit and chat and to especially get out of the "soul-sucking" humidity and heat we've been dealing with here in Nebraska.

We all had a great time and Charise had some adorable decorations up.

Next month we'll meet at Sarah's house and be discussing  The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: A Novel on August 20th.  Hope to see you there!

May

Book Club May

This month, book club was hosted by the lovely Emily.  We had a great time discussing the book and enjoying delicious brownies.  With summer and graduation, our numbers were small, but Heather and Lisa are a delightful and welcome edition.  We missed those of you who were unable to party with us and hope you can join us next month.

June's book is The Wednesday Wars, written by Gary D. Schmidt.  We will meet on June 18th at Valerie's house at the same time as always.  Hope to see you all there.

Wasn't book club fun?? Getting together, discussing the book, & eating Cake Lady Cake for Reesie's Birthday... Doesn't get better than that.

Thanks So Much Lara for hosting. You're wonderful!
